With that being said I think it's time for me to review the individual ships (yeah, this was the intro, so be ready for some huge texts). German armor is among the worst in the game and the basic with german cruisers (along with knowing AP usage) is ship angling, without it you won't be simply useless, you will be demolished from the surface. However the main weakness of these ships is in their armor. Your AP rounds are the strongest in the entire game and, even though low tier has better results with HE, you need to know how they work because, starting on tier five, you will probably forget your HE (It's a trap, don't do it). Your main strenght relies in your artillery, without a good artillery and aim these cruisers become utterly useless. In the mean time I found interesting to share with the community my thoughts on what I consider the best line in the game: The germans.įirst things you should know before starting your grind the the great Hindenburg is that the germans are very unique in its ship characteristics. Now that I finally got my Hindenburg the fun in the game is focused in upgrading my Roon captain to the Großadmiral rank (19 point captain). With the time-limit imposed by the Uruguay government due to run out on the 17th December, he chose to sink his own ship in neutral waters and commit suicide.I've been playing Wows since October 2015 and since around November I'm absolutely in love for the german ships (cruisers and battleships). He had the order to scuttle his ship if he could not fight his way to freedom. He had been duped by false signals and by the assertion of his gunnery officer that a British cruiser was in the vicinity. British reinforcements were not due to arrive in the area until the 19th December, but Langsdorff supposed that the British were prepared again for battle. Langsdorff had been given three days in harbour by the government of Uruguay. The damaged Graf Spee could not undertake the return journey to Germany. Harwood disengaged and it looked as if Langsdorff had won the advantage, but rather than finishing off the battle, he retreated to Montevideo, Uruguay. They fought for 80 minutes and Langsdorff forced the Exeter to retreat before turning on the two smaller ships, the Ajax and Achilles (a New Zealand vessel). Langsdorff thought they were in convoy rather than warships. The Graf Spee saw the Allied ships and cruised straight for them. Intent on pursuing the Graf Spee, he lay in wait with two light cruisers and a larger battleship, Exeter. However, Langsdorff had been second-guessed by Commodore Henry Harwood. It had become necessary for the ship to return to Germany for repairs, but before doing so Langsdorff chose to intercept a convoy that he knew to be in the River Plate area. It had left Germany at the start of the war accompanied by the supply ship Altmark, and succeeded in sinking nine Allied ships in the South Atlantic and Indian Ocean. The Graf Spee, captained by Hans Langsdorff, had proved an effective battleship. The location of the battle was off the South American River Plate. The Battle of River Plate was fought on 13 December 1939 between the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee and the Allied Naval task force.
